 Cashew is cultivated in India in the South Indian states and in the hilly areas of Northeast India and also in the Bastar Jharkhand areas of Chhattisgarh, cashew crop is taken in large quantity.

 Cashew is originated in Brazil. It has been planted in India from Portugal to India in the years 1570 and today India is the world's third largest producer. Cashew is a foreign exchange earning crop after tea leaf copy.

 If one hectare of cashew is to be planted, then cashew can be planted in a distance of 7 meters on both the length and width.  And for pit mining, pits should be prepared in 40 cm length width depth. Cashew plants should be prepared in nursery in the month of July, August and planted in the field in rainy month itself.
